A small diner with deep roots
A place that feels like home.
Welcome to Driftwood Diner, a cherished family restaurant and breakfast spot for the island community we hold dear. Nestled in the iconic former Lucy Bell’s Café space on Daufuskie Island, we opened with one clear goal: to serve exceptional diner food with genuine hospitality in a welcoming environment that feels like home.
We live here, raise our children here and truly care about the heartbeat of this island. Our menu is intentionally simple—breakfast sandwiches piled high, freshly made biscuits, burritos that keep you satisfied until dinner and seasonal favorites. We focus on mastering a few dishes and serving them consistently, with warmth and pride.
“What makes Driftwood special is the way people gather here.”
It’s the neighbors who pause to chat on the porch. It’s the regulars who know their favorites before they step inside. It’s the visitors who experience a little of the island through breakfast and friendly conversation. To us, being part of a close-knit community means that service has real meaning.
As we grow, we remain committed to being a positive part of Daufuskie life—collaborating with other local businesses, supporting island events and giving residents and visitors a welcoming place to gather, eat and feel at home.
Whether you’re starting your day with a bike ride, grabbing a biscuit on your way to work or lingering over a slow morning with friends, Driftwood Diner is here for you.
